Mangrove Diversity of Maharashtra
There are about 68 specific locations in Maharashtra where mangroves are found. All these locations are considered to be ecologically sensitive areas. Very few marine ecosystems dominated by plants and mangroves are one of them. In Maharashtra 20 species of true mangroves have been reported, belongs to 15 genera and 12 families.
